AIM OF SCHOLARSHIP
PROGRAM:
Over the last thirty-five
years since its inception The Dolphin Swimming Club, through its involvement in
swimming in The Bahamas, has assisted in affording many of the swimmers passing
through the Club the opportunity to compete internationally as well as to secure
athletic scholarships to universities abroad. We at The Dolphin Swimming Club
believe that not only do we provide a wholesome environment for children to have
fun but we also open doors for those willing to pursue competitive swimming as a
career. Even for those swimmers who never become exceptional swimmers, the mere
experience of being on a team, in our view, contributes to the personal growth
of the child and helps to establish friendship bonds outside of their normal day
to day life. It is against this background that The Dolphin Swimming Club has
undertaken, through a scholarship program, to commit itself to making the sport
of swimming available to children attending Government Primary Schools whose
parents are willing to get their children involved in the sport of swimming.
