REQUIRED EQUIPMENT Posted by: Administrator on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 - 03:50 AM
As with any sport there are a few essential equipment items that every swimmer must have. Both boys and girls must have a competition swimming suit (for the boys this does not mean shorts). Swimming caps and goggles are not required but are highly recommended.
All swimmers joining the Competitive and Improve Yours Stroke programs are encouraged to purchase the specialized Club equipment bearing the Club’s Dolphin logo.
Basic equipment may be purchased at any good sport store or equipment orders may be placed through the Club’s equipment representative at the beginning of the swimming season.
The following is a list of the various equipment items used by competitive class swimmers. It is not essential that members purchase every item on the list. The Club makes available to its members many of the items listed below, however, members are encouraged to purchase their own equipment at some point during their membership. This may become essential to National Team members who may be required to train at the National Pool where there is no communal equipment available. Used equipment such as paddles and fins may be purchased from members who have out grown their equipment.
